Treatment of seed GEP field trials
Innoveins seed solutions is GEP/TNG accreditated via our daughter company Botany/Exploras. That means that we are allowed to apply non-registered products onto seeds for experimental practices. We apply products onto seeds, check germination rates, package and ship seeds to contractors selected by you around europe for registration and/or screening trials.
Germination and seed safety analysis
The germination and safety of different dosages of seed treatments are tested very accurately by using phenotyping techniques. by using this approach we can make very small differences visible to determine possible effects of biostimulants. from each treatments we make germination curves and check maximum germination, germination speed and germination uniformity
Seed treatment performance testing
Efficacy of fungicides against pathogens is determined by using a petridish method. We inoculate certain substrates with pathogens and measure growth of the pathogen. we determine efficacy of the product coated around the seed and investigate potential of product for seed application agains soil and seed borne diseases by using an easy and accesable laboratory test
Seed borne pathogen inoculation (NEW!)
Innoveins seed solutions inoculated seeds with seed borne pathogens as well. we inoculate based on priming techniques and ship seeds treated with the right seed treatments products to contractors and trial sites. we conduct quality control tests to check virulency and prescence of fungal strains.
Soil borne pathogen efficacy testing
In our climate chamber we are able to inoculate substrate with fungal strains. in our laboratory we multiply and plate a wide range of fungal strains. with this knowledge we inoculate the soil and test efficacy of those seed treatment against pathogens in planta.
Insecticide efficacy trial
Efficacy of insecticide treatments is done based on choice en no-choice laboratory test.This research is feasible when the target organism is able to multiply under laboratory conditions. generally a dose rate is included and a LD50 is determined based on those tests. repellency products are often tested based on a choice between untreated and treated seeds.
Resistancy study insecticides
Based on new and excising protocols resistance of target organisms can be determined. Seedlings are grown until a certain stage and placed into dishes, target organism is placed on the leaves and knock-off is determined.
Insecticide translocation study
The uptake of insecticides as seed treatments can be determined as welll. multiple plants are sown and different parts of each plant are analysed. Based on HPLC analysis the amount of residue on each plant part is determined over time.
Microbial seed product trials
microbial living organisms are often treated around the seed, we check stability, effect of germination and microorganims growth onto the seed.
Innoveins seed solutions analysis the mode of action for biostimulants as seed treatments. We look into stress conditions such as salinity, drought, heat, cold and herbicide conditions and assess seedling growth very precisely with our phenotyping system.
Weed seed delivery and upgrading for field or early R&D trials (NEW!!)
When you need to conduct GEP, germination or screening trials with specific weed types we source, treat and ship seeds to have a good germination so that you can focus on the trial and test herbicides.
Seed herbicide resistance/efficacy trials
We deliver also trials to test different compounds of herbicides in laboratory/climate chamber scale to test the efficacy of herbicides and resistance of weeds against herbicides. With our good and uniform seed due to the treatment we can make sure each seedling is in a similar phase of development
Herbicide stress testing
We are also measuring the effect of herbicides on germination stress/decrease on a dose rate of herbicides. We do this for weeds seeds and general treated seeds such as cereals, corn, OSR, sunflower or vegetables seeds. Possible residue levels in the soil can be mimicked and a delay in germination can be measured very precisely.
